Krabi
Krabi is the perfect holiday destination for those looking for a relaxing area in southern Thailand with activities for all of the family. It is just 80 minutes by air from Bangkok, with a range of accommodation from budget to deluxe. The best time of year to go is between November and April to avoid any unpredictable weather. The province, located between Phang Nga and Trang, features stunning scenery both inland and at sea. With around 200 islands along its 150km-long coast line (most of them featuring beautiful white-sand beaches and crystal clear waters). A jungle-covered interior, towering limestone cliffs, caves, waterfalls and exotic wildlife complete this paradise holiday destination.
There are a multitude of activities available in this coastal paradise including sea-canoe, rock climbing, scuba diving, ATV tours, white water rafting and island hopping. There are many fine dining restaurants, classy spas and cooking classes to be found also in Krabi town. Railay beach is potentially the most attractive beach in Thailand, which is really only accessible by boat due to the isolated beachfront. Here you will find stunning white sand, breath taking views and fantastic limestone cliffs. Rock-climbing is a popular tourist activity here also
One of the most famous islands around Krabi province is ‘Phi-Phi Island’. The famous movie ‘The Beach’ was shot here and the tourists have never stopped coming, so we advise an early morning visit to beat the crowds. You can get there by speedboat which takes about forty five minutes from Krabi mainland.
Koh Lanta Yai is an island about two hours away from Krabi Town, it is a small island that stretches about twenty kilometers from end to end. The island has a small population band a number of top quality resorts and guest houses. Koh Lanta Yai is also home to many certified diving schools ready to take you to see the beautiful marine life and coral the local waters have to offer.
