In Indonesia, since the beginning of June 2021, the Covid 19 Delta variant has spread very quickly and led to a strain on the health care systems. From July 3rd, 2021, a state of emergency and lockdown was introduced in Java and Bali, and recently extended to the whole of Indonesia. Currently in Bali there is a curfew from 8pm onwards.
It is estimated that 71% of Balinese residents have received their first vaccine dose and that the target of full vaccination for 70% of the population could be met by the end of July2021. So. It is hoped that the re-opening of the borders of Indonesia might be a possibility sometime later in 2022.
