Welcome to our ‘Experience Asia’ News Update for August 2022. This month from Thailand we feature an unique island resort, a new island hopping tour and some dining advice.

Destination Focus – ‘Pai’

Located 140kms west of Chiang Mai, in a valley on the ‘Pai river’, this charming village was previously a haven for backpackers and adventurous travelers. ‘Pai’ is much more accessible today and is well known for its hot springs, waterfalls and gorges. The village itself is quaint and culturally rich, with markets, coffee shops and traditional restaurants serving Thai, Yunnan (Chinese) and French dishes

‘Pai’ can be visited easily from Chiang Mai and we would recommend at least a two day stay there, to fully appreciate its charms.

Product of the month – ‘Southern Thailand Explorer’

This unique 8-day tour includes visits to the most scenic destinations in Southern Thailand such as Phuket Island, Samui Island, Khao Sok National Park and Phi Phi Island. The islands are diverse and beautiful spanning from the Gulf of Thailand to the Andaman Sea

Hotel News – ‘Avani Chaweng Samui’

Avani Chaweng Samui Hotel & Beach Club opened its doors on 1st August offering guests stylish accommodation in retro-chic rooms.

Located in the middle of Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui island, guests can enjoy glamorous pool parties at ‘Seen Beach Club’ or simply relax in one of the resort’s 80 balcony rooms and suites.

Hotel News – ‘Outrigger Samui’

Outrigger has officially launched the Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort. The fully renovated resort opened with 44 premium category rooms, with the remaining 102 superior rooms set to open in November 2022. This is a true family resort with three pool zones and the Coral Kids Club, plus the Edgewater beach club has many activities for more lively visitors. Premium rooms feature spacious living quarters separate from the rest of the room, with a four-poster bed and French-style balcony.

Thailand News – Electric Car Rental in Phuket

A fleet of 100% electric vehicles (EV) – the ‘Nissan Leaf’ – have been added into the ‘Sixt Thailand’ rental car collection in Phuket, giving eco-minded travelers a more sustainable and convenient way of exploring the island. InterContinental Phuket Resort is playing a part in this green initiative with the installation of several EV charging stations in the resort. These charging stations are compatible with ‘Sixt’s Nissan Leaf’ and other electric cars.
