Welcome to our ‘Experience Asia’ News Update for July 2022
This month has seen the relaxing of the last laws affecting tourists wishing to enter Thailand, because of the Covid pandemic. Because of the new easy access, and with the beaches in pristine condition because of low tourist numbers over the past 2 years, Thailand is starting to become a hugely popular destination once again. This month we have produced a Thailand update with news about our enhanced services and new products on offer.
The ‘Thailand Pass’ is now Cancelled
The Thai government announced two important updates to their tourist arrival rules. As of 01 July, the “Thailand Pass” program will end, as well as the mandatory $10,000 Covid health insurance requirement for foreign visitors. Visitors will only be required to show proof of either a certificate of full vaccination or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel (these can be in a print or digital format). In addition, the CCSA announced that Bangkok and the rest of the country are now a ‘Green Zone” which means that businesses and activities can resume operations as normal.
‘TTM+ Travel Show’ in Phuket from June 7-11
Attended by our Sales Manager Jamie, the return of the annual TTM+ Travel show in Phuket last month was a real sign that the pandemic is under control in Thailand. Hundreds of leading travel buyers from around the world attended the business events and had pre-arranged business meetings with top local suppliers. Thank you to all who attended and for meeting Jamie personally to discuss business opportunities.
‘Villa de Pranakorn’ (Bangkok)
Big, bright and breezy spaces abound in this collection of sleek, chic rooms. From the solo-friendly Superior through to the one-of-a-kind Signature Suites, the 47 luxurious rooms offer something for everyone. Tucked away only moments from the heart of Bangkok’s Old Town, Villa de Pranakorn is the easy-going, eye-opening alternative for guests who want to get away from the chaos of the Thai capital.
‘Sindhorn Midtown Hotel’ (Bangkok)
This IHG exclusive property will officially be the first ‘Vignette Collection’ hotel to open in Asia.
The 394-room hotel is located in Langsuan, close to prime business districts of Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam and Chidlom.
‘Best Western Plus Nexen’ (Pattaya)
Great value for money 4-star resort which will open on 1 August in Pattaya. Guests can enjoy the midscale hotel’s close proximity to the beach, major shopping malls, restaurants and nightlife. Also located nearby are local business parks, championship golf courses and water parks.
‘The InterContinental Khao Yai Resort’ (Khao Yai)
This stylish wellness resort is opening on 22 August and pays homage to the era of King Rama V’s reign when the surrounding area was a gateway for rail transportation to North-East Thailand. This high end resort is perched on the edge of the UNESCO listed ‘Khao Yai National Park’, surrounded by 50,000 trees with views of seven lakes on a 40-hectare site.
Oasis Affordable Luxury Spa’s
Oasis Spa is our preferred ‘Spa’ chain in Thailand, with branches in Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Phuket. Every aspect of these Spa’s, has been artfully crafted to create a personal paradise where sophisticated treatments balanced between the contemporary and traditional produce a transforming experience. Oasis Spa’s highly-trained therapists use specialized treatments and products that will help to reinvigorate your tourists. Exclusive pricing can be offered by ‘Experience Asia’ for all branches.
‘Self-Drive Tuk-Tuk Experience in Chiang Mai’
Learn to drive your very own Tuk-Tuk (the iconic Thai motorized 3 wheel vehicle) and then explore the stunning rural back roads and communities of the foothills of Doi Inthanon. Explore remote mountain Temples, travel through spectacular scenery and get a glimpse into real Northern Thailand life. You’ll also meet a small group of beautiful elephants and learn about their lives, and then float gently down-river on a bamboo raft. This day really does have it all, along with the added excitement of being behind the wheel of your very own Tuk-Tuk! *Multi day options are also available.
‘Koh Phang Ngan’ island
Located in the gulf of Thailand
Though not so heavily touristed as its larger neighbor ‘Koh Samui’, the island boasts fabulous pristine beaches and ideal spots for snorkeling and diving. However, Ko Pha Ngan is most famous for its monthly ‘Full Moon Party’. This boisterous night-long celebration, which is tied to the lunar calendar, draws revelers to its southeastern peninsula, Haad Rin.
On the north coast lie quieter, white-sand beaches where the more luxurious accommodation can be found.
