Experience Asia News Update July 2022

Welcome to our ‘Experience Asia’ News Update for July 2022

This month has seen the relaxing of the last laws affecting tourists wishing to enter Thailand, because of the Covid pandemic. Because of the new easy access, and with the beaches in pristine condition because of low tourist numbers over the past 2 years, Thailand is starting to become a hugely popular destination once again. This month we have produced a Thailand update with news about our enhanced services and new products on offer.

The ‘Thailand Pass’ is now Cancelled

The Thai government announced two important updates to their tourist arrival rules. As of 01 July, the “Thailand Pass” program will end, as well as the mandatory $10,000 Covid health insurance requirement for foreign visitors. Visitors will only be required to show proof of either a certificate of full vaccination or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel (these can be in a print or digital format). In addition, the CCSA announced that Bangkok and the rest of the country are now a ‘Green Zone” which means that businesses and activities can resume operations as normal.

‘TTM+ Travel Show’ in Phuket from June 7-11

Attended by our Sales Manager Jamie, the return of the annual TTM+ Travel show in Phuket last month was a real sign that the pandemic is under control in Thailand. Hundreds of leading travel buyers from around the world attended the business events and had pre-arranged business meetings with top local suppliers. Thank you to all who attended and for meeting Jamie personally to discuss business opportunities.

Destination Focus

‘Koh Phang Ngan’ island

Located in the gulf of Thailand

Though not so heavily touristed as its larger neighbor ‘Koh Samui’, the island boasts fabulous pristine beaches and ideal spots for snorkeling and diving. However, Ko Pha Ngan is most famous for its monthly ‘Full Moon Party’. This boisterous night-long celebration, which is tied to the lunar calendar, draws revelers to its southeastern peninsula, Haad Rin.

On the north coast lie quieter, white-sand beaches where the more luxurious accommodation can be found.

Our top luxury hotel suggestions would be:

-Santhaya / https://www.santhiya.com/kohphangan/

-Anantara / https://www.anantara.com/en/rasananda-koh-phangan

-Panviman / https://www.panvimanresortkohphangan.com/

-Bliss Villas / https://www.phangan-bliss-villas.com/

The best time to visit the island is from July-August or January-March and the regular 1-hour flight from Bangkok, with ‘Bangkok Airways’, is the most convenient way to get to Koh Phang Ngan
