Thailand News / ‘New longer Stays Permitted’

The latest positive news from Thailand is, that as from 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023, travelers from selected countries and regions are entitled to stay for 45 days without the need to apply for an advanced visa. The current maximum length of stay at one time stands at 30 days, but according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the 64 countries exempted from applying for a visa can enjoy the 45 days stay.


Destination News / ‘Maya Bay’ (‘The Beach’)

Maya Bay, one of Thailand’s most iconic tourism destinations, has finally reopened to the public after more than four years of closure due to damage caused by over tourism. At the peak of its popularity, Maya Bay, famous for the movie ‘The Beach’ with Leonardo di Caprio, was attracting up to 8,000 visitors a day, but crowds of tourists overwhelmed the local nature. However, with the bay open again, tourism companies say they have learned their lesson and will follow the advice of scientific experts in maintaining the beauty of the area.


Flight News / ‘Direct Service from Ho Chi Minh to Chiang Mai’

Vietjet have announced that they will be resuming direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s business and tourism center, and Chiang Mai, Thailand’s Northern capital. The service between Ho Chi Minh City and Chiang Mai operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday with a flight time of just two hours.

From the same owners who opened the original floating hotels on the River Kwai, ‘The Jungle Rafts’, is the more luxurious ‘The Float House River Kwai’. This boutique resort is a romantic hideaway surrounded by lush jungle. Each luxurious and spacious floating villa is totally private and rich in custom tailored-made teakwood furniture with thatched roofing. The ‘River Kwai Float House’ is just a 3 hours journey from Bangkok, and a great experience.

Hotel News / ‘The Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit’

Following the debut of itsRadisson Resort and Suites Phuket inaugural Asian ‘Tribe’ Hotel in Phnom Penh, a new ‘Tribe’ property has been announced ‘The Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit’ will open in quarter four 2022. A total of 272 rooms and serviced apartments will be housed within the property. The hotel features a Social Hub comprising a café and flexible spaces for work or social interaction.

Hotel News / ‘Radisson Resort and Suites Phuket’

The ‘Radisson Group’ has recently expanded its portfolio with the opening of the ‘Radisson Resort & Suites Phuket’, making it the group’s fifth hotel in Thailand. The Radisson Resort & Suites Phuket is situated on Kamala Beach, on the west coast of the island facing the Andaman Sea and 27 km from Phuket International airport.


Other News / ‘Samui Island’s Monkeys’

The local monkey’s in Samui Island, who have been trained to harvest coconuts, could be retiring soon. This news has come from the local office of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) whose campaign prompted Thailand’s Department of Agriculture to design and build a coconut harvester tool.


Other News / ‘A New “Bridge over The River Kwai”

The Thai government has opened a new bridge intended to boost tourism in the area. The ‘Kanchanaburi Skywalk’ will span the Khwae Yai River and will span 150-metres offering panoramic vistas looking out to the merging of the three rivers joining at that point. The River Kwai regions (Kanchanaburi) is only a three hour drive from Bangkok and is renowned as an area of natural beauty.
